Brunch and Learn, "Lighting Trends and Technology", May 13, 2015

Lighting terminology can be confusing. This program, led by Michelle Savageau, one of the designer's at Creative Lighting, will shed light on trends and technological developments in the lighting industry with an eye to practical application.  This program will include:

  •  An overview of the various light sources currently available to designers, including advances in  LED  technology
  •  A comparison of light fixtures by wattage, voltage, lumens, Kelvin, and other criteria
  •  Tips that will allow you to specify fixtures with confidence!
  •  A discussion of  options for home lighting systems

"I enjoy helping people get the perfect lighting application to be functional and aesthetically pleasing," explains Michelle, who has a bachelor degree in Interior Design. Michelle has worked at Creative Lighting since 2007 and has worked in the design industry for over 10 years. She is excited about the increase in art glass, unique fixtures, and the new resources for energy efficient lighting. Outside of work, Michelle enjoys spending time with her husband and stepdaughters, candle-making, remodeling, and anything creative she can get her hands on."

There are many types of glass on the market produced in various ways.  We will go over the history of glass tile, quality standards in place to help protect the consumers, manufacturing methods, mounting methods, sustainability and installation methods.  At the end of this presentation, the audience will have the confidence to specify the right products for the right applications.
