IFDA CELEBRATES THE ADDITION OF ITS 15TH CHAPTERPRINCETON JUNCTION, NJ – June 20, 2006 – The International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA), a professional alliance of leaders reflecting every facet of residential and commercial furnishings and design, has announced the formation of its newest chapter based in Richmond, Virginia. Now with fifteen chapters, IFDA is well represented in nearly every design hot-spot in America. IFDA by-laws stipulate that a chapter cannot be established unless it contains at least 15 members. The Richmond chapter was declared official once this quota had been reached and then surpassed. "We are proud to welcome Richmond to our association,” said IFDA President Mark Jeross. "It is a tribute to the energy and dedication of the chapter founder, Kathy Corbet, who was determined to bring IFDA to her community and recruited enough like-minded colleagues to make affiliation possible.” Corbet, owner of her own design firm, Kathy Corbet Interiors, is a former member of IFDA‘s New England Chapter. She recently relocated to the Richmond area. "We are thrilled to be officially recognized as a part of IFDA,” said Corbet. "Designers and other professionals in the industry in the Richmond area will benefit greatly from having such a vast educational and networking resource.” Founded in 1947, IFDA is structured to provide a professional forum for communication and interaction among its high-profile members, promote career advancement and educational opportunities, and increase public awareness of the furnishings and design industry through specialized programming and service to the community. |
