GRACE MCNAMARA NAMED IFDA ‘TRAILBLAZER‘ FOR 2005

Princeton Junction, NJ, August 9, 2005–Grace McNamara, president and CEO of her own firm, which publishes Window Fashions and FFi-Fine Furnishings magazines, plus a too-the-trade trend quarterly, loopreports, has been designated this year‘s Trailblazer Award winner by the International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA).  Based in St. Paul, Minnesota, Grace McNamara, Inc., produces seminars, conferences and trade shows for the window coverings industry in addition to publishing magazines that are leaders in their respective fields.

IFDA‘s Trailblazer Award is presented annually to a person who has made significant contributions to the furnishings and design industry. "Throughout her career,” says IFDA President Lee Coggin, "Grace McNamara has consistently demonstrated leadership qualities both within the industry and specifically within her field. Her stellar contributions—to education and career development—will continue to resonate.”

Although IFDA affiliation is not a Trailblazer prerequisite, Ms. McNamara has been a member of IFDA‘s North Central chapter since 1987.  She will be honored at a gala banquet on September 30, concluding night of the three-day Industry Forum and Conference sponsored by both IFDA and the IFDA Educational Foundation, to be held at the Omni Parker House Hotel in Boston.

As this year‘s prestigious Trailblazer awardee, Ms. McNamara joins a roster of luminaries, including Lady Bird Johnson, former First Lady; Jack Lenor Larsen, textile designer; Paige Rense, editor; and Philippe Starck, designer.
