She has been active in the Profession since 1966, both with large &

small private firms and in major retail settings. She left those confines to

establish her own firm in 1988. Early in 1994 Donna's firm DRL * Total

Through active memberships in The American Society of Interior Design, The International Furnishings & Design Association and The National Kitchen & Bath Association, she keeps current on developments within the field and is constantly expanding ties with new sources for product and services. She holds a National Council for Interior Design Qualification Certificate #0001840. Licensed & Certified to practice Interior Design in Virginia, Maryland & Washington, D.C. with reciprocity in others, Donna is further opening doors to other markets and influences.

Donna's residential work has included complete new home plans with accessible design refinements, additions and renovations, space evaluation, specializing in ‘Universally’ designed kitchen & baths, lighting design, window treatments, custom backgrounds and 'turn-key' services well-suited to the lifestyles of today's busy clients and those slowing down and want to ‘Age-in-their-Place-of-Choice’.

Her commercial design projects include custom kitchen/bath/tile/plumbing hardware specialty retail showrooms; medical & executive suites, churches and a boutique hotel.

To better assist her endeavors, she has made an alliance with

Montgomery Kitchen & Bath, Inc. Through this connection she is a supplier

of fine custom cabinetry to builders, contractors, architects and works

with other professional designers to provide their clients and her own with

great product. What she can design they can produce.

Some of the Industry Awards bestowed upon her: ‘Designer of Distinction’;

‘Wm.L. Wilkoff,FASID Design for Humanity Award; Milo Hoots,Jr.,ASID Leadership Award; Design Competition for a church project; numerous Presidential Citations by ASID Washington Metro Chapter. She was named Member of Distinction and achieved the level of ‘Fellow’ by IFDA Washington Chapter. Published in numerous home magazines and national newpapers.

Donna has volunteered her time and talents to a variety of organizations and community projects that include the National Symphony

Orchestra & Alexandria Campagna Center Decorator Show Houses, the

Foundation for Hospital Art, Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy Institute for the Mentally

Challenged, Washington Ballet, Arena Stage Guild, Meridian House

International, Judging ‘COTY’ Awards for The National Association of the

Remodeling Industry [NARI] , Jurying exams from National Council for

Interior Design Qualification [NCIDQ®] and an Elder at Covenant Presbyterian Church.

Family is an important part of her life - besides a wonderful, supportive

husband, four fabulous step-children, their four spouses or significant, she is

also a 'Nana' many times over. Donna loves travel, collects & sells vintage jewelry, 20th century Lustreware and Arts & Craft objects. She has had professional floral training which she occasionally finds time to use for clients and special friends, but most of all as part of excessive gift wrapping.

Being a 'Director', not a 'Dictator’, Donna believes in giving total accessibility, simplicity with honesty; soft-mix transitional, thoughtfully arranged and filled with function, contributing to quality of her client’s lives and all who might visit them!
