February 2015 ... Colors That Make Sense
Our kick-off event for the 2015 program year featured a presentation from Gloria Robertson, of Twinkle Designs, about how to create the perfect environment that is a true reflection of your client’s home or business by using color. This event also included speed networking and a presentation about the Women’s Institute for Housing and Economic Development (WIHED) which is IFDA-NE’s new non-profit.
December 2014 ... Holiday Party!
Our annual holiday party was a chance to celebrate together and lift a glass our colleagues. The Endicott Estate, an architectural and historical gem, was the perfect venue. During the course of the evening we honored board members, collected donations to benefit the Ronald McDonald House, listened to carolers, toured the 25 room estate, took a horse and carriage ride around the estate grounds and greenhouse, and enjoyed a delicious spread.
November 2014 ... Holiday Entertaining with a Personal Touch with Chef Bill
We enjoyed an entertaining and educational evening with Chef Bill who demonstrated personal touches that make your food stand-out from conventional offerings like homemade Caesar Salad dressing, hot fudge sauce and pickles. Chef Bill brought many more yummy appetizers for us to sample and savor.
October 2014 ... 13th Annual Interactive Membership Dinner
The 13th Annual Interactive Membership Dinner was an amazing opportunity to see the most current products and offerings of our vendors, view the Designer Showcase entries, honor the Designer Showcase winners, and network with vendors and designers.
September 2014 ... Writing Workshops with Louis Postel
When clarity meets creativity! Louis Postel hosted a series of 7 exclusive writing workshops for our chapter. Lessons included how to tell your story as a designer; how to entice editors about your work; and describe your projects best on the web.
June 2014 ... Boston Harbor Sunset Cruise with BRAGB
This members-only event was a terrific opportunity to enjoy views of Boston and Cambridge while socializing with peers from both IFDA New England and BRAGB.
May 2014 ... The Importance of Styling
Under the expert guidance of Greg Premru and Stephanie Rossi we learned how to style interior design work for award winning photographs. Among the many lessons learned over the evening was the idea that smaller vignette shots looks more inviting than showing the whole space and items off center or angled sometimes make for a better photo.
April 2014 ... Shiny is the New Black
The interior design industry is full of talented designers, but your designs can stand out from the crowd if you have a keen eye for detail and know what’s new in the marketplace. Our two guest speakers addressed the latest trends and accessories that help designers create unique and award-winning designs.
March 2014 ... BDW Special Event
IFDA partnered with M-Geough for a very special event during Boston Design Week. IFDA Designers were on hand to stimulate creative thinking, brainstorm solutions to tricky design problems, talk through style choices, etc. with attendees as they created a design inspiration board and then took a selfie with it.
March 2014 ... Using Social Media as a Megaphone
Ray Bachard began the evening early with a pre-event social media refresher course. After enjoying the Wolfers Lighting Showroom and a delicious dinner, members heard Leslie Fine talk about using social media as a business megaphone. She talked about recent design industry social media successes and strategies, as well as what's on the social media horizon.
