Welcome! We're the Voice of New England's Furnishings & Design Industry
The International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA) is the only all-industry association whose members provide services and products to the furnishings and design industry. IFDA is the driving force, through its programs and services, to enhance the professionalism and stature of the industry worldwide. As the "voice" of the total furnishings and design industry, IFDA provides its members with the tools and resources to enhance their businesses. Aggressive advocacy promotes the advantages of working with an IFDA professional. IFDA welcomes members from every facet of the furnishings and design industry. Members are executives and companies professionally engaged in the design, production, distribution, promotion, communication or education in the furnishings and design and/or related industries.

April 2014 ... Shiny is the New Black
The interior design industry is full of talented designers, but your designs can stand out from the crowd if you have a keen eye for detail and know what’s new in the marketplace. Our two guest speakers addressed the latest trends and accessories that help designers create unique and award-winning designs.
March 2014 ... BDW Special Event
IFDA partnered with M-Geough for a very special event during Boston Design Week. IFDA Designers were on hand to stimulate creative thinking, brainstorm solutions to tricky design problems, talk through style choices, etc. with attendees as they created a design inspiration board and then took a selfie with it.
March 2014 ... Using Social Media as a Megaphone
Ray Bachard began the evening early with a pre-event social media refresher course. After enjoying the Wolfers Lighting Showroom and a delicious dinner, members heard Leslie Fine talk about using social media as a business megaphone. She talked about recent design industry social media successes and strategies, as well as what's on the social media horizon.
February 2014 ... Jazz and Friends
We celebrated the start of our 2014 program year with an amazing and fun evening of music performed by IFDA NE member Paula O'Sullivan and her Jazz Quartet. The evening also included a chance to catch up with other members (due to snow, it had been a while since we were together!), delicious food and a fun contest from host Landry & Arcari Oriental Rugs & Carpeting.
December 2013 ... Holiday Party!
Our annual holiday party was a chance to celebrate together and lift a glass our colleagues. The Waterworks Museum, an amazing property constructed at the height of Boston's "Golden Age", was the perfect venue. During the course of the evening we honored board members and collected donations to benefit the Ronald McDonald House, a tradition of giving that dates back to 1996.
November 2013 ... Creative Holiday Appetizers with Chef Bill
We enjoyed an entertaining and educational evening with Chef Bill who demonstrated how to cook two fabulous appetizers in the Miele New England Showroom. Chef Bill also brought many more yummy appetizers for us to sample and savor.
October 2013 ... 12th Annual Interactive Member Dinner
This was the most successful member dinner we have ever held with over 18 vendors participating in the interactive showcase, fabulous attendance and a great talk from business growth advisor Jim Pouliopoulos.
September 2013 ... The Fine Art of Bedding
With the help of two experts, we explored all bedding topics from thread-count to dye methods to layering techniques. This interactive event was enjoyed by members, guests and students. The networking opportunity during cocktails and appetizers was used to great advantage by all!
July 2013 ... Lunch & Learn with Jody Seivert
Jody Seivert, owner of One x One Companies, shared her experience and strategies for qualifying clients and pricing work for ultimate success. The interactive workshop was open to members, guests and students and included lunch.
June 2013 ... Summer Cruise with ASID
This members-only event was a terrific opportunity to enjoy views of Boston and Cambridge while socializing with peers from both IFDA New England and ASID New England.
May 2013 ... Raising YOUR Revenues with Jody Seivert
Jody Seivert of One x One Companies gave a presentation that encompassed how pricing projects helps build a design business and its revenues and profitability. Her presentation also touched upon how to attract premium projects, a key to selling premium products.
